隨著台灣陸軍砲兵的年齡越來越老，包括移動火力平台，因此，砲兵需要提高新的標準。
砲兵是台灣人特別關心的領域，因為眾所周知，左翼中國擁有無可爭議的優勢。

根據歷史經驗衝突，台灣發生的衝突表明，即使在裝甲編隊中，砲兵仍然可以起到毀滅性的作用。
